Position Title: Production Supervisor                                                    FLSA:  Salary Exempt

Shift:                 2nd

Reports To:  STM Production Manager                                                   Date:  1/12/2023  


Functional Scope:  Oversee and direct the day-to-day activities/operations within the production environment for a multi shift site.

Position Specifications: BS in technical field and 3 years’ experience or 5 years of relevant experience in a technical production environment with progressive responsibility.  Work under pressure with high degree of accuracy and with frequent interruptions.  Working knowledge of ERP and Microsoft Office software, strong diplomacy, effective communication, analytical aptitude, technical writing and problem-solving skills.

Essential Functions: 

  • Regular attendance
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position, with or without accommodations
  • Thorough understanding of each production function throughout the manufacturing process
  • Responsible for timely/cost effective processing of quality finish product
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams
  • Maintain time keeping and employee personnel records.
  • Understand and drive operational metrics such as productivity, utilization and efficiency to ensure year over year OI improvements.
  • Thorough understanding of company policies/procedures while ensuring adherence and executing disciplinary actions as required
  • Recommends structure, equipment and staffing to accomplish company objectives
  • Maintains an accurate documentation system for absences and training
  • Drives safety and ensures that action is taken to prevent injury/loss
  • Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
  • Thorough understanding and administration of union contract
  • Apprises management of production issues and recommends possible solutions
  • Make recommendations for employees to accomplish goals/objectives
  • Interprets process sheets and procedures
  • Directs/monitors continuous improvement
  • Applies and enforces documented procedures
  • Capable of delegating some authority with close follow up and control
  • Travel as necessary
  • Other functions as assigned
